Build the first version around one useful task
Imagine a B2B service that turns a few answers into a tailored proposal. Before building accounts, payments and administration tools, you can test the central interaction. Do people understand the questions? Is the result useful? What information is missing? The first trial focuses on the questions that will determine what to develop next.
We work with founders to identify the assumptions behind the idea. Who will use it, what will it help them do, and how do they handle that task today? We turn those questions into initial workflows, sample content and criteria for a trial. They also provide a basis for the development scope: what must work for the trial, what can be handled manually, and what can wait?
Choose the prototype that answers your question
An interactive mock-up, a technical proof of concept and an MVP serve different purposes. We help you choose the right one for the decision ahead.
- An interactive prototype tests the experience
- We design screens and connect them into a workflow. People can try a task before the database and integrations exist. Useful for user interviews and product demonstrations, but not yet a working application.
- A technical proof of concept tests feasibility
- Can an API provide the required data? Can a document be read accurately enough? A focused trial with representative examples tests the uncertain part of the idea. The interface and feature set can stay deliberately limited.
- An MVP supports real use
- The first usable release delivers a limited set of features. Once real people and data are involved, appropriate access controls, privacy, security, accessibility and arrangements for ongoing operation belong in that release too.
Build your online presence alongside the product
Not every startup is building software. A new service, physical product or scientific process also needs a clear online presence. We work with you on the structure, writing, design and contact options. Visitors should understand who the offer is for, what it helps them achieve and how to find out more.
A focused website may be enough to start: the offer, use cases, team, credible evidence and a way to enquire or register. A CMS lets your team update the content themselves. Search optimisation, performance, mobile usability and accessibility are considered during the build. Specialist partners can contribute search strategy and GEO expertise where needed.
We also distinguish what is available now from what is still a product concept. The copy, screens and sign-up process need to tell the same story. Measurement and feedback then help establish which content people understand and where they lose interest.
Use early feedback to decide what to develop next
A prototype lets you observe people completing a task, rather than only collecting opinions about an idea. We prepare the trial and turn the findings into specific decisions.
- Define the task
What should a participant be able to complete successfully?
- Try the prototype
Work with relevant participants and realistic examples.
- Review the findings
Separate usability issues, missing information and technical limitations.
- Agree the next scope
Revise the prototype, run another trial or develop the first usable release.
Test AI against the job it needs to do
An AI application might start with a small document collection and a set of representative questions. We assess whether answers are accurate, sources can be traced and access permissions are respected. A convincing demonstration is a starting point, not evidence that all the other cases will work.
AI tools can also speed up design alternatives and initial implementation. The team still owns architecture decisions, code reviews and the rules for using data. Before a trial, we agree how to evaluate it and examine the running costs of a future service.
Keep your options open as the team grows
Founders need room to develop the business. We document important decisions, clarify access and the usage rights agreed in the contract, and prepare for collaboration with a future in-house development team. Clients contract directly with hosting and other service providers.
You can bring us in for a defined prototype, a website or both. We start with the decision you need to make, rather than a fixed startup package. Bring your idea, any existing sketches and the questions you need to answer next.
You can test a product idea while building its online presence. We help founders define what the prototype needs to establish and what genuinely has to be ready for launch.
